Jillian is 34 and hasn’t been to the dentist in over 10 years. She’s embarrassed and scared of cavities and other dental issues, but her bigger fear of the dentist altogether has her frozen.

Jillian is not alone. As many as 40 million Americans avoid the dentist because of fear and anxiety, says Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. But as you can imagine, unaddressed dental issues just lead to more complicated oral health problems.

The news isn’t all gloomy however. Even for those who are the most fearful, it IS possible to reduce fear and learn to have dental treatment in a way that feels calm and safe.

At our family dental practice in Columbus, we aren’t going to claim to having any magical beans that rid of the anxiety. But we do have some tricks up our sleeve and a lot of decades of giving-a-care, that have allowed us to make our friends feel comfortable in our dental chair. For kids, our Doc is literally a nationally famous magician. I know — it’s a bit crazy. But your kids will find it awesome. A few little tricks really makes them smile and puts them at ease. For those with a few more years under your belt, we can try the tricks for you as well — or we can just keep it real and promise to be kind, gentle, patient, and take as much time as needed to where you’re max comfortable.

We’re a family dentist Team here in Columbus. Easily found at Bethel and Sawmill Roads.

If it’s been too long for you, we hope you’ll consider us. Because your oral health and overall health go hand in hand. And both are a very big deal.
